Firebird ActiveRecord gem is updated to version 0.8.2 with a few fixes

  1. Improved FbColumn#initialize so that limit, precision & scale get set only for correct column types.
  2. Fixed “singleton can’t be dumped” marshaling error.

Testers and pull requests are wellcome.

Although this adapter may not yet have feature parity with the 1st tier databases supported by the Rails developers,
it has been in production for several months without issues (Rails 3.2.x) and may be considered stable. (Rails 4 testing and pull requests are wellcome)

This version fixes Segmentation fault issues
Release files can be found here

To install it using gem

rvm use ruby-1.9.3-p125
gem install rubyfb

Here is the original tutorial that I follow and in my howto I only post modification/tips needed for running RoR on Firebird

Migrations don’t work yet with RoR and Firebird but you can use Flamerobin for creating tables by hand 😉

FireRuby updated – Bumped version to 0.5.9 for Rubyforge.
