Announcements of new Firebird related products, or new releases.
At the moment (well, for the last two years now) we only use FBLib.
The original author is nowhere to be found, so I started maintaining
or rather fixing the issues we deteced. For our latest FBLib, you can
get a update from tiOPF’s project on SourceForge.net.

A new release of Jaybird is available – 2.1.5. It fixes a bug introduced in 2.1.4 when events did not work on Linux. Please upgrade your installations to this one.

The Firebird Team is pleased to make a release candidate available for field testing the first V.2.1.x patch release on Windows, Linux and MacOSX Intel platforms. Please test it hard and report any problems to the firebird-devel list.

Jaybird team is pleased to announce the Jaybird 2.1.4 bugfix release which contains a fix to make events run with Firebird 2.1. Also some some fixes to the test cases were made, since a bug with a constant order for table reservation in TPB was fixed in FB 2.1 (CORE-1416).
Audex is a new audio grabber tool for CD-ROM drives based on the application development framework Qt 4 (4.3.x). Archival functions of the extended database mode are in the focus by now.
Several people can use Audex to extract their audio CDs and sync metadata with a single SQL database. Every time someone wants to extract an audio CD that still exists in the database Audex will deny extracting. In normal mode Audex behaves just like every CDDA extractor.
And it supports Firebird:
– Synchronisation of metadata and even covers with MySQL/PostgreSQL/Firebird-Databases (e.g. explore it with a PHP-webinterface).
By Jiri : Well, not so back as you might think, but the incompatibility between Beta 3 and SP1 Beta 1 is gone. I’ve done some new methods etc. so it’s now at least able to work in totally simple cases. In next weeks I’ll try to review all the changes and push the support little bit further. You can download current state from weekly builds.
You may have heard of “Ubuntu Netbook Remix”, a special edition of Ubuntu for so called “netbooks“, which was showcased by Canonical at Computex.
In ubuntu atom cpu is named lpia and firebird/flamerobin builds just fine on it (is low power x86 so it should be ok)
