Migration Guide to Firebird 4

The English version of the Migration Guide to Firebird 4 eBook is now available to everyone who wants to save time and have a smoother migration from an older Firebird version to Firebird 4.

The Guide has 206 pages, and cover several topics including features introduced in Firebird 4, like Time zones, Read Committed Read Consistency isolation, Replication, Decfloat, etc. The eBook is now available in PDF format. A printed version will be made available in Amazon in the near future.

Initially available only in Portuguese, it is the result of a successfull crowdfunding campaign in Brazil, with the participation of +300 people.

Printed version of the Migration Guide to FB 3 is available

The printed version of the Migration Guide to Firebird 3 was previously available trough CreateSpace site. Since the recent merge of CreateSpace and Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing, the printed book had became unavailable.

I’m glad to announce that the printed version of the Guide (in English) is now available in several Amazon sites around the world. If you prefer to have a physical copy instead of the eBook, you can buy it visiting the Guide’s page.

Migration Guide to Firebird 3 gets updated!

I’m proud to announce a new update to my Migration Guide to Firebird 3 eBook! The changes in revision 1.20 are mostly concentrated in the chapters about Connecting to Firebird 3 using an old client library, Testing application’s queries, Jaybird, .NET Provider and the two new sections about permissions for creating databases and for generators and exceptions.

In the next days, all those who already bought the eBook will receive an email with instructions about how to download the new revision.

The printed version will also get updated asap is already updated to 1.20. Those who already bought the printed book (rev 1.02) can email me to receive a PDF with the changes.
