What’s new in release 3.2b1?

If you’re a C programmer, know the PHP internals, and are willing to maintain the Firebird driver for PDO, please step in, since it isn’t in good shape.
The PHP Data Objects (PDO) extension defines a lightweight, consistent interface for accessing databases in PHP.
Thanks to DBAL (Database Abstraction Layer) and ADOdb api typo3 can be installed and used with firebird :
This means, not every aspect has been thoroughly checked, but TYPO3 has been installed from scratch successfully, BE logins are possible, and basic websites can be created (template, pages, content elements)
A new version 2.5 of IBPP, a C++ API interface for Firebird got released some days ago. Downloads from the Sourceforge project area: sourceforge.net/projects/ibpp

This update brings some new functionalities, more complete events support and will be shortly enhanced to bring full FB 2.0 compatibility (not that it shouldn’t work with FB 2.0 as is).

This replication suite is written in Java, and allows replication between diferent databases (ie: Firebird < -> MySQL, etc). More information here.
MDB_QueryTool 1.1.0 has been released.
MDB_QueryTool is a PHP OO abstraction to the SQL query language, it provides methods such as setWhere(), setOrder(), setGroup(), setJoin(), etc. to easily build queries.
It also provides an easy to learn interface that interacts nicely with HTML forms using arrays that contain the column data, that shall be updated/added in a DB.
This package bases on an SQL-Builder which lets you easily build SQL statements and execute them.
The package has been fully tested with MySQL, PostgreSQL and Firebird.
The latest release adds support for MDB2 as the backend.
NuSphere PhpED 4.5 with SQLite and FireBird support is released
Recently I came across Morkif. Still haven’t lost much time with it, but it seems an integrated environment for “drag & drop” webpage development.
It combines AJAX, a small Apache Server and the Firebird database engine.
