FlameRobin enters Debian/unstable
Hi, everybody,
Finally, flamerobin 0.7.2 entered Debian/unstable.
After comments/suggestions from Marius Popa, Tamas Tevesz, Yavor Doganov and Kari Pahula and lots of help from FR/IBPP developers, flamerobin got into the official Debian archive. Actual upload was kindly sponsored by Thijs Kinkhorst.
Binary package is available for i386 and amd64 architectures.
KInterbasDB 3.2 is released
KInterbasDB is a Python extension package that implements Python Database API 2.0-compliant support for the open source relational database Firebird and some versions of its proprietary cousin Borland Interbase. In addition to the minimal feature set of the standard Python DB API, KInterbasDB also exposes nearly the entire native client API of the database engine.
KInterbasDB is free–covered by a permissive BSD-style license that both commercial and noncommercial users should find agreeable.

FIBPlus 6.45 has been released
Devrace developers continue to improve FIBPlus library and make it better compatible with Firebird 2 (in particular now FIBPlus supports charset UTF8 fields for Firebird 2). MDB2_Schema is learning new tricks
Igor is doing great work on moving forward the XML based database schema format originally developed by Manuel Lemos as part of Metabase that is used in MDB2_Schema. [ED…skiped some content]The idea behind this schema format is to make it possible to define a single database schema that can be used to create, alter and initialize databases in any number of RDBMS. For example currently MDB2_Schema supports MySQL, PostGreSQL, Oracle, SQLite, MS SQL Server, Interbase/Firebird.
