Migrating from MSSQL Server to the Firebird
Migrating from Microsoft SQL Server to the Firebird Database can be quite the project, this article will attempt to help this process by relaying the steps I have taken from translating the database schema to creating UDF’s to handel all the functions required by my SQL Server setup.

TimeSnapper now uses Firebird
TimeSnapper, winner of the Larkware contest (2005) now supports Firebird in its version 2.0, as you can see in the author’s blog.
There was a staggering amount of work in getting the details right for this release. We’ve got new forums, a proper installer (at last!), and we now use a firebird database to help you manage your data.

“NRI Open Source Map” Rates Open Source Software
Japanease research company published a chart “NRI opensource map” that judged the practical use degree of the open source software.
Firebird listed on the area can be used for enterprise systems.
