Migrating from Microsoft SQL Server to the Firebird Database can be quite the project, this article will attempt to help this process by relaying the steps I have taken from translating the database schema to creating UDF’s to handel all the functions required by my SQL Server setup.

TimeSnapper, winner of the Larkware contest (2005) now supports Firebird in its version 2.0, as you can see in the author’s blog.
There was a staggering amount of work in getting the details right for this release. We’ve got new forums, a proper installer (at last!), and we now use a firebird database to help you manage your data.

Firebird listed on the area can be used for enterprise systems.
