Roman Rokytskyy already worked on this some time ago, but his work needs to adapted changed for the current versions of the Eclipse DTP. Last month a bug was filed at Eclipse, and Brian Fitzpatrick created a basic plugin to support Firebird.

I have used Brian’s plugin as my starting point and will merge Roman’s work into that plugin in the coming weeks.

For now the basic plugin will be available for download here. Although the plugin follows the org.eclipse.* naming-convention, it is not (yet) officially condoned by the Eclipse Foundation, and there are still some licensing issues to work out.
