Release of IBProvider v3.34 – «Native OLE DB Provider for Firebird v3»

Hello everyone!

We have two pieces of news for IBProvider and Firebird users. Both are good.

  1. The release of «IBProvider Professional Edition» v3.34 with its own Firebird v3 client is already available for download.
  2. We upgraded the «Free IBProvider» and added a subsystem to it with its own Firebird client.

Now all IBProvider editions can work directly with all released Firebird versions from v0.9 to v3.0!

We hope this release will bring new ideas to your work.

Firebird 2.5 package is now replaced by Firebird 3.0 in Debian Unstable

Firebird 2.5 package is now replaced by Firebird3.0 in Debian Unstable.

And here is the reason from Damyan :

Please remove the firebird2.5 source package and the corresponding
binary packages from unstable.

According to the roadmap¹, upstream intents to drop support for
Firebird 2.5 in 2017.

http://www.firebirdsql.org/en/roadmap/

Debian has the next major version 3.0 in sid/stretch, so I want to
avoid the need to support for stretch two variants of the codebase,
one of them possibly without upstream supprt
.
